Portugal is one of the oldest existing states in all of Europe and its territory has continually been settled, invaded and fought over since pre-historic times. In the 15th and 16th centuries (known as the Age of Discovery) Portugal established the first global maritime and commercial Empire and with this trade came in contact with a wide variety of ingredients, spices and cooking techniques, and they held a major role in food globalization. Many of the vegetables, herbs and spices we use today are due to this introduction.
This month our chefs have done some exploring and discovery to bring you some amazing plant-based Portuguese Cuisine inspired flavours right here to Dublin.
So grab your amigos e amigas, your amores e alma gêmea e venham to Veginity!
